a society that has failed people - can there be another kind?
is it possible to create a society that fails no one? because there will always be a criminal underworld, and seeing the state of history, there will always be an underclass, there is no way to ensure that "no one is left behind" because of the very nature of insatiable human greed, dominance, possession, and corruption.
and there is no way for governmental rule to ensure that EVERYONE is justly treated and supported by legal boundaries
and there will always be people who break that law
and if you're talking about society beyond governance, by the means of human nature there is no way to constrain human malice or prevent or stop it from generating
i grew up in gang neighborhoods, syndicate territory, so i in particular want people to think Very Deeply about what they mean when they say they care about creating a world where there are no "people who society has failed." this is also said as if they are passive victims in a sense...they may be pitiable, but they are also egoists in their own right
people may be abused and warped by governmental systems, but the social constraints of society itself often drive them to death / it's the Public that suggests culling of "crazies / lunatics / psychos" for Public Safety, it's the PEOPLE, the COMMON CITIZENS, that create monsters
not the government failing to lend a hand
if everyone will treat you like a monster regardless of if you've done anything truly awful or not, then what's the point of "being good" if you'll be treated like you're evil whether you're good or not? why not just be evil then, just like everyone expects you to be? it is futile to be good and act good, because no one will believe you anyway, and everyone will condemn your efforts no matter how pure of heart you behave yourself to be
this isn't a governmental systemic failure. it's purely a social behavior there are no "systems" at work beyond the public conscience of the common people.
is it possible for a society to exist (in terms of governance) that "fails no one" when it is the subjects of the society, the common people, that create and generate prejudice and harm simply by breathing?
