IV: regarding a society that fails people
a friend said, "There's that Paulo Freire quote 'Quando a educação não é libertadora, o sonho do oprimido é ser o opressor' , [“When education is not about liberation, the dream of the oppressed is becoming the oppressor.”]
but I think it's less true that the underworld possesses the anti-liberation stance, bc the civil world reaps the most benefit (profit) from the oppressive structures ie the imperial profit of supremacy
the underworld is cutthroat But it is actually a true meritocracy in the way that even though I'm a genius im just a disabled worthless psycho crazy civilian
so maybe it's empire that makes you believe in dehumanization, that to be human means to dehumanize others, and you are either dehumanizer (human) or dehumanized (monster) and in order to prove you're not a monster, you have to create an Other that takes your place as a monster
but as long as there is ability there will always be inequality in terms of power balance, and there will always be people exploiting inequality to prop themselves up higher
but so, "violence is not the only truth" (from kimono.) bc there will also always be people who love and feel and heal and support each other
