IV: suicide kings is the world of the condemned
in this scene, they're literally talking abt KILLING HIM (se-bin)
they're talking about killing.

even if it's inexplicit, even if you aren't thinking at all...
can't you feel Smth from the tiny colors in a bleak and desolate black and white world
someone condescendingly remarked, "your art is fun to look at, (Buut...)"
!! there's nothing fun about it!!

se-bin may be laughing but under any god that woman is suffering deeply
that's why she looks like this
it's suffocating and oppressive and the city is dark and bleak and spitfire's black margins crush the viewport window even tighter.
spirfires expression here is so tense and wary. and fundamentally real, even with the literal flames.
and kusuriuri's gnarled fingers and dirty fingernails. looking too comfortable and relaxed while having 4 eyes and karasu wings. like he doesn't even notice the abnormality.
everyone is conducting themselves. with an appearance of Extreme suffering. and an ultimate despair and horror and desolation that goes deeper than "sadness" or "fear"
even spitfire who is afraid, he only looks vaguely hostile
none of them are well or depict themselves as such, ever. their supranatural magical abnormality is a reflection of their innermost corruption and the curse/wish they hold in their heart.
spitfire was almost burned alive by the grandaunt he calls "mother" in the same tone as "mistress" who he still obeys in his heart.
there is nothing kusuriuri wants more than to soar the skies. pure, with the sun striking a glimmer in his eyes. he has 4 bc is an ego twin.
he bears the crosshair moon halo of someone forcibly bound by 契約 (KEIYAKU; pact, (spiritual) contract) with the lunarity of night.
the crosshair is about how one day he's doomed to shoot himself. or be shot to suicide (death).
se-bin's name means pure, washed jade. that's what her grandmother wanted for her. but he was a man instead, at least sometimes, noncommittal, and he has a mouth on his stomach and on the palms of her hands, and he can Just Barely hide his abnormality. but not quite; the ravenous, insatiable hunger and teeth-grinding itch for violence, entertainment, and monstrosity consumes him.
their magical abnormalities are allegorical, like the whole of suicide kings.
but it is the truth that...
suicide kings is the world of the condemned.
